Whether changing the wheels of your vehicle for style or to enhance the performance of your vehicle, it is important to match the custom wheel to your tire.
When updating your old wheels to new chrome wheels you do not have to update your tires.
However, it is important that the diameter and width of the new chrome wheels have the same diameter and width as the old wheels.
It is also important that your new chrome wheels consist of the same bolt pattern as the old ones. By making sure that the chrome wheels match the tire, it ensures the unity of your new wheels to your vehicle.
|1||We suggest that you clean the wheels of your car before washing the rest of the vehicle. It prevents unwanted brake dust and dirty water from splashing onto the car. With that being said, rinse off your wheels with a hose that delivers a strong stream of water. Rinse till all loose dirt and brake dust are removed from the wheel.|
|2||Now is when you whip out your chrome wheel cleaner. A couple examples of non- acidic cleaners that will protect the wheels finish are Griot's Garage Chrome Wheel Cleaner, Mothers Wheel Mist Chrome/Wire Pro Strength Wheel Cleaner, and Wolfgang Tire & Wheel Cleaner. Work on one wheel at a time.|
|3||You will need a soft bristled wheel brush in order to loosen grime and brake dust without scratching the chrome. Reach through spokes to clean each wheel front to back. The wheel should remain wet through the cleaning. Water and wheel cleaner help loosen grime, brake dust, and they serve as a lubricator to prevent scratching when brushing. Also never spray wheel cleaner on a dry wheel or leave it to dry because it will spot the finish.|
|4||Don't forget to clean the wheel wells! Lots of dirt and mud get kicked up there from driving. Spray all-purpose cleaner and clean with a tougher brush. Think soft and gentle for wheels, strong and sturdy for wheel wells. Do not spray all-purpose cleaner on chrome wheels|
|5||Rinse and dry your chrome wheels. Always dry your wheels. You want to make sure you dry your wheels in order to avoid unattractive water spots. Drying your wheels results in a chrome wheel with a mirror finish and that is what you want to see after all your hard work!|
