Comment by Andrew on February 26, 2012 at 10:31am Larry. I hate to break the news to you but just like a car note or rent, you always have a way to pay it. If you only deal in cash, get a prepaid card and load it with your monthly or weekly amounts and allow them to take it off. Granted they were in the wrong for doing that BUT if you did not A: Keep in contact to let them know the situation, B: Made no attempt to make the payment or have someone make the payment for you then YOU are held accountable. You have THEIR property valued above 100 dollars which is typically from state to state a value which is PROSECUTABLE by LAW as STOLEN PROPERTY.
I work as a contractor and I am more than 2 hours away and typically either work out of state or I'm more than an hour away from my own home BUT, if I feel I am late, I talk to them, let them know ahead of time, and ALWAYS have a prepaid card with the amounts needed on it. And the lawyer will tell you the same thing. I have a deep distrust of banks, but when I got a loan through a dealership with NO grace period, they tried repossessing my truck when I wasn't even a day late, and after getting harassing phone calls and whatnot, I was told from a few lawyers that if you are late and they are not notified they are obligated by law and company policy to treat the items as stolen of which you will be prosecuted but had you given them a heads up and made an attempt to pay the payment, whether it was a quarter, half, or at least let them know you would be a day late, they would work with you, but because you didn't, you're liable.
Again, you're at fault.
Comment by larry E Martin on February 26, 2012 at 10:07am This is how RNR does bussiness, I rented some tire's from the Jonesboro Ar, location, and first let me say I was late a week, I work 12 hour days and live 45 minutes away, so when I get off work they are closed, and when I go to work they are closed. After a week being late My wife got a phone call from someone who said that they were an investagator and that if I did not have my payment there by 7 oclock that he was going to put out an warrant for my arrest, My wife told him that I had the money but was at work, He told her that it didnt matter that if I was not there at 7 oclock that he was going to get a warrant for my arrest for stealing there tire's. My wife call my work and told me what he said to her, she was really upset. I took off work and drove up there and made the payment. First let me say that I made the payment because I owed it to them, not because he sad that he was going to issue a warrant for me. If at the time If it was possible and I didnt have to go back to work I would have taken the tire's off and took them back to them, which is what I am going to do before my next payment is due anyway. I am also going to cantact a lawyer and see if there is any legal action I can take for the threating phone call. If this is how RNR does bussiness than I want no part of it. Like I said I was 7 days late , and they threaten you with putting you in jail. Scare the hell out of you wife, and call all your references and tell them that you are going to be arrested because you havn't made a payment in 7 days. I guess they think because you rent tire's and just didnt buy them you can't afford to do anything to them no matter what you do. I rented the tire's because at the time it seemed like a good Idea not putting our a large sum of money at one time, and still pay it off in a reasonable time . Because I was 7 days late I wouldn't even had a problem with them comming to get them, but to threaten you with jail after only 7 days is a little over the top. Like I said I am going to talk to a lawyer and see if this is a practice that is legal. But like I said they will be getting there tires back,

Comment by Andrew on January 31, 2012 at 8:23pm I went down to RNR yesterday and checked out some wheels and tires for my 01 Ranger. Thought that 20'' wheels would of been nice, but after seeing the price, I was shocked. Instead I was referred to 18 inch Ravage wheels with spankin' new tires for half the price and affordable monthly amounts that looked better than the wheels I picked out! The service was quick too! They had me check the wheels out next to my truck, said if I wanted or not, I said yes and before I was in the door my truck was already on a lift with a new wheel and tire on. And graciously and rather quickly the mechanic pointed out an issue that my dealership mechanic had missed for the past 3 years I've owned the vehicle. Amazing service!

Comment by Andrew on January 28, 2012 at 6:47pm I live about 50 or so miles away from the Eastgate location, stopped in yesterday to get some pricing on a set of wheels and tires, when ''Jon's'' question was answered, service area means what exactly? The RNR program is not applicable? And also, my fiance was curious to ask if unemployment insurance is an acceptable income, she was laid off but also works but only wants to use UI for purchases that arn't a ''necessity'' as she says.
